Equi-Power Central Scotland RDA Group is an independent SCIO and Social Enterprise and member Group of RDA UK, based in the Forth Valley. We believe in the power of horses to transform lives and offer a range of equestrian based therapeutic and sporting activities to children and adults with additional support needs. Operating from a temporary base, our award winning group are seeking Trustees and Fundraising Sub-Board members with the expertise, passion and commitment needed to help us fulfil the vision to build a new RDA community facility of excellence in Stirling, Central Scotland. The centre is expected to provide national training and competition facilities alongside the sporting and therapeutic riding, carriage driving, equestrian vaulting and equine facilitated learning opportunities that RDA is known for UK wide.

The Donor Ambassador is responsible for implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gifts from corporations and high net-worth individuals, expanding current fundraising efforts and increasing financial support for Equi-Power’s exciting Capital Project. Reporting to and working closely with the Fundraising Strategist, in this one year role you will be supported by a Donor Research Assistant to ensure that the time commitment to this project is productive and not a distraction from other commitments you might have. Suited to experienced fundraisers or those with relevant professional experience seeking to add to their fundraising portfolio, this is an opportunity to be part of a project with outstanding social benefit. With the commitment of 1 day a month we can achieve great things!

Key Responsibilities include:

1. In close collaboration with the Committee Chair, Fundraising Strategist and Donor Researchers, the Donor Ambassador assists in creating the Funding Development Plan and develops and broadens the organisation’s donor base, levying financial support for the Capital Project Development.

2. With assistance from the Leadership Team, establishes fundraising goals and identifies funding opportunities.

3. With assistance from Donor Researchers, identifies prospective donors, develops and documents strategies for building relationships with them.

4. Through relationship development, solicits donations and implements a giving program that offers a range of opportunities including regular gifts, major gifts and legacy gifts, with a focus on funding Equi-Power’s Capital Project.

5. Manages a portfolio of donors through the stages of qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

6. Assists with timeliness of the gift processing, acknowledgement, data management and reporting processes.

7. Enhances Equi-Power’s visibility with potential donors.
