Equi-Power Central Scotland RDA Group is an independent SCIO and Social Enterprise and member Group of RDA UK, based in the Forth Valley. We believe in the power of horses to transform lives and offer a range of equestrian based therapeutic and sporting activities to children and adults with additional support needs. Operating from a temporary base, our award winning group are seeking Trustees and Fundraising Sub-Board members with the expertise, passion and commitment needed to help us fulfil the vision to build a new RDA community facility of excellence in Stirling, Central Scotland. The centre is expected to provide national training and competition facilities alongside the sporting and therapeutic riding, carriage driving, equestrian vaulting and equine facilitated learning opportunities that RDA is known for UK wide.

Reporting to and working with the Fundraising Strategist and tasked with procuring funding to advance Equi-Power’s exciting Capital Project, the Capital Fundraiser – Grant Applications Writer is an integral member of the fundraising sub-board. The one-year position has responsibility for jointly developing a fundraising strategy, and implementing the strategy by writing funding applications as a member of a team of grant application writers. As Capital Fundraiser – Grant Writer Volunteer you will be supported by a Prospect Research Volunteer to ensure the time you give to this project is targeted for maximum benefit. Suited to either experienced Capital Fundraisers or fundraisers seeking to gain experience in Capital Appeal roles and expand their fundraising portfolios, this voluntary position is an opportunity to use and develop your skill set and be part of an exciting project with outstanding social benefit. Training in governance, application writing and report writing is offered as appropriate. Key Responsibilities include:

• Working with the fundraising strategist, donor researchers and donor ambassadors, jointly develop and execute a high level fundraising strategy to move Equi-Power’s Capital Project towards its financial goals

• Create a strong case for support enabling a unified approach across the fundraising team.

• Approach Trusts, Foundations and Grant giving bodies in line with organisational strategy, proactively driving engagement.

• Craft and submit funding applications and proposals, effectively conveying the organisations mission, vision and programs to potential donors. • Maintain accurate records of all applications including successes, failures and invitations to reapply.
