Play your part and support life-saving research.  Every step we make towards beating cancer relies on every pound, every hour and every person. Be a part of Kendal’s friendly fundraising group; raising awareness and life-saving funds in your local community.  The Kendal Group raise vital funds for essential research in the North West and Nationally

Thanks to the generosity of our volunteers and supporters, Cancer Research UK funds over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses across the UK. If you’re looking to get involved with something different and make a difference then the Kendal Fundraising Group could be for you.  Together we will beat cancer.



What will you be doing?

  • Working in partnership with the Chair and Treasurer to identify new ideas and opportunities to maximise local fundraising efforts

  • Work together with all members to help plan and coordinate group fundraising activities.

  • Attending a monthly meeting, taking notes and action points
  • Maintaining Group data
  • Represent Cancer Research UK and the Kendal group in the local community.
  • Support the group to adhere to Cancer Research UK legal and health and safety guidelines (everybody’s responsibility)
  • Keep up to date with and share the latest news and activities from Cancer Research UK



Your Commitment and Location

Probably 2 – 4 hours a week depending on activities.

Generally all activities are within the locality



What type of person we are looking for

You will be enthusiastic and motivated, with a local knowledge of your community and a passion for the work of Cancer Research UK. You will work alongside the rest of the fundraising group to generate new ideas, build and maintain effective relationships and support the delivery of fundraising events.

What you can expect from Cancer Research UK

· An induction and ongoing support and guidance from your Local Relationship Manager and Chair of the group,  as well as fellow volunteers

· Advice on how to promote a variety of fundraising events

· The opportunity to gain an insight into the work of Cancer Research UK and an understanding of how supporters funds are used.

Where will this role be based?

This is a home-based role however part of your role will include you being ‘out and about’ in the community e.g. committee meetings, fundraising events etc
