As a Fundraising Group Co-ordinator, you will be the key contact for fundraising in your local community and help co-ordinate a group of like-minded volunteers to raise money through a variety of activities such as collections, social events and tea parties. You must be over 18 to apply.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Organising and attending events such as the Great Guide Dogs Tea Party, Pub Quizzes and collections in your local area.
  • Working as part of Guide Dogs’ fundraising team with staff and volunteers.
  • Liaising with Community Fundraiser informing them of events in your area.
  • Making sure your fundraising policies and procedures are followed.
  • Being a passionate local ambassador for Guide Dogs’ work.
  • Ensuring that any information provided by Guide Dogs is cascaded to relevant supporters or volunteers.
  • Encouraging local businesses, schools and groups to name their own guide dog puppy.
  • Building relationships with local networks, socials groups, schools and businesses to encourage them to host their own event in support of Guide Dogs.
  • Ensuring income raised from events is banked in a timely manner.

Ideally you will: 

  • Have good communication and team-working skills.
  • Be able to generate enthusiasm.
  • Be in a position to organise and chair regular group meetings (min 4 per year).
  • Able to motivate people.

Training and Support:

At Guide Dogs we recently achieved the Investing in Volunteers certification which means we take volunteering seriously and offer a great level of support and invest in our volunteer’s success. You will have a dedicated volunteer manager/key contact who will help you settle in and support you during your time with us.

Training will include:

  • Basic induction to Guide Dogs and to the role.
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) training.
  • Regular and ongoing advice and support from Guide Dogs.

If you have questions about the training requirements, we can answer these at your interview along with any other support or accessibility needs you may have.
