Retail Volunteer

RHS Garden Wisley, Woking, Surrey

Unpaid

Would you enjoy helping our customers choose the right plants and products? Do you want to improve your customer skills or perhaps increase your knowledge? Then joining our friendly team in our purpose-built Garden Centre could be for you.

As one of our retail volunteers, you will be helping us in our charitable work to ‘inspire everyone to grow’ as our profits make an important contribution to funds.

In our Garden Centre, we sell a huge range of top-quality garden and indoor plants, (more than 90% of the plants we sell are specially grown for us by nurseries across Great Britain, including many in the local area). We also have a gorgeous gift shop selling a wide range of products – just the place for treating yourself or finding the perfect present.

An understanding and ability to deliver a high level of customer service is desirable (additional on-site learning will take place). Please note that this role does involve standing for periods, bending and lifting.

You will have free access to the garden (and our other four RHS Gardens) as well as discounts on retail and catering on-site (conditions apply).

To apply please visit our website via the link and apply online via the application form, even if you have volunteered with us before.

Please note this link will take you through to our Volunteer Portal where, if you have not already done so, you will be prompted to create a log in before progressing to the application form. Please ensure that you describe in your application how your skills and experience are relevant to the role you are applying for (as specified in the role description) as this is how we shortlist applications.

The closing date for all applications is 9pm, Sunday 21 November 2021.

We are committed to being an inclusive recruiter and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. We would particularly welcome applicants who are aged 18-25 years as we are underrepresented in this age group. We are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk and expect all volunteers to share this commitment.
