Weekend Bookshop Volunteer
Become a weekend bookshop volunteer
We have volunteer roles for people who would like to work on the till, meeting and greeting customers and donors in our retail shop. We also need people who would like to work behind the scenes at our charity shop, readying donations for sale and perhaps even supporting our Oxfam Online Bookshop.
If you wish to gain valuable skills and experience by taking on a supervisory role, we will gladly train you to do so.
Why be a volunteer?
Your time will make a huge difference; for example, we estimate one four hour shift will on average provide enough income to enable Oxfam to provide life-saving handwashing facilities for 81 people.
No experience is necessary as full training will be given, all we ask is that you’re happy to work as part of a diverse and inclusive team.
Benefits of becoming a volunteer
•Gain genuine experience working in a retail environment
•Great way to meet new people
•Be part of a team and make a positive change to the world

Oxfam does not accept applications from anyone on the Sex Offenders list. We may enquire about unspent convictions relevant to the role and you may be required to submit to DBS checks (at no expense to you). You can find out more information about safeguarding policies on our website.
