The difference you will make.

Dementia is the UK's biggest killer. 225,000 people will develop dementia this year, that’s one person every three minutes.

Not one of our walks could happen without our amazing volunteers. We raised over £8 million from last year's Memory Walks, and we hope to raise even more this year! By volunteering you will make a massive difference in the funding of vital dementia research, campaigns, and support services.

What does a volunteer do?

On the day, our volunteers will either be based out on the route with the walkers, or on the event site.

They will get to meet walkers and take in the amazing event day atmosphere in both areas! Roles will be allocated on the day of the event, but we ask volunteers to please let us know if you have any preference and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Route marshalling

Positioned at key points in the route to ensure walkers are heading in the right direction, you will cheer walkers on and keep them motivated!

Event site volunteer

Interact with our walkers before and after the walk; sell our merchandise, provide walkers with Memory Tags, assist them with queries, and keep the event site clean, tidy and safe.

Finish line volunteer

We need energetic volunteers to congratulate our walkers as they cross the finish line and present them with their medals and water! By volunteering you will make a massive difference in the funding of vital dementia research, campaigns, and support services.
