Gardens are vital wildlife havens and bring people closer to nature. Our Open Gardens scheme is growing and 2019 is set to be full of gardens in bloom around Cheshire.
Are you able to help us to coordinate these events?
There are various things to consider when organising an open garden event and much of the work goes on behind the scenes. After holding some very successful open gardens in 2018, there has been a spike in interest, which has led us to consider taking on a few extra pair of hands.

Much of the role will be working towards the open garden day, communicating with the home owner, working with our communications team to promote the event and supporting the volunteers who will be helping on the day. The roles for volunteers vary however some examples include cakes and refreshments, car parking, children's activities and gate duties.

A full introduction to the role will be given and there will be an opportunity to shadow staff at a planned open garden in July.

Once you have settled into the swing of things, there is also the potential to help the trust identify new supporters and open garden hosts.

This is an opportunity for those great with people and/or planning, whilst not forgetting nosey neighbours.
