Volunteer Trustee - Crewe Youth Club
Could you use your skills to guide Crewe Youth Club? We are looking for new Trustees to bring their skills to support us as we enter a new phase for the Club and an exciting new beginning for the organisation.
History Crewe Youth Club first opened its doors in 1964 and is has been a part of the lives of the young people of Crewe for the last 50 years. Unfortunately the Club was devastated by fire in September 2014. After hard work by the current trustees the Club has become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and is now in a position to move forwards. Exciting times are ahead with plans for a new life for the youth club, aiming to become an essential part of the local community again. What we are looking for: We are looking for trustees to help us in this new phase. You will work with the current trustees and be one of the people responsible for the running of the charity and directly involved in its governance – making the charity effective, providing overall direction and the sound management of funds. Other important responsibilities include: • Helping to develop and implement a fundraising strategy to continue the work of the Youth Club • Helping to develop and approve policies and procedures • Using own skills, knowledge and experience to help the Trustees reach sound decisions • Ensuring that major decisions and policies are made by Trustees acting collectively • Contributing to raising the profile of the Club • Helping to develop the plans for the new youth club and engage the local community. We are looking anyone who has a genuine interest in supporting young people and the wider community.
Time Commitment: Trustee meetings are once a month however during this exciting stage of our development a little more time may be needed.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
We are looking anyone who has a genuine interest in supporting young people and the wider community. We are particularly hoping to involve Trustees with the following specific skills: • Fundraising skills • Business management skills • Marketing/social media/communications • Professional background (e.g. accountant/solicitor/architect etc.) • IT While these are important skills, you don’t need special qualifications to become a Trustee for the Club. Of equal importance is common sense, flexibility, offering your time, an ability to work as part of a team and a willingness to learn. This is a volunteer role and we ask that you must be reliable and committed, discrete and maintain confidentiality at all times.
