The Missing Kind is a charity promoting and inspiring kindness, without boundary. We are building a social enterprise network of venues around the UK (currently in Norfolk, Devon and Carmarthenshire) that will provide sustainable sources of income for the charity, as well as delivering services and facilities to the local communities in which the venues are based
Our flagship KindaKafe in Norwich is a social cafe, inspiring and supporting community groups and local social entrepreneurs, with our meeting rooms, co-working and event space facilities. We are also developing a social impact centre at ‘KindaPlace’, our hotel premises in Paignton and a social enterprise living and working community at our beautiful 80 acre KindaVillage farm site near Pencader.
We also run a ‘KindaMovement’ programme, which encompasses a number of projects based around varying social impact aims. Two projects we are keen to push for 2019, for example, are: KindaJob, which is a job-share initiative for those who struggle to maintain full-time work due to long-term illness or disability and ‘KindaEducation’, our programme of alternative education themes, starting with our KindaForest school in Halesworth, Suffolk.
We currently have a small trustee board of 3 people and we are looking to expand our board’s skill base. We are specifically looking for new trustees that will help us manage the charity’s growth - those with a background in charity or business management and with finance/governance skills. We would also like to grow our board to a capacity whereby each trustee can oversee our specific initiatives that fit with their own social impact objectives.
