RNIB Minibus Driver and Escort - Bishopbriggs
Do you enjoy driving and meeting people? Could you be a driver or an escort? We need volunteer minibus drivers and escorts to pick up blind and partially sighted people who have a learning disability to our day and assessment centre in Bishopbriggs.
A PVG Scotland Adults Criminal Record check will be required.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Driving the RNIB mini bus
- Drive to activities and events
- Assist passengers in and out of vehicle
- Sighted Guiding
- Reporting any incidents/ accidents.
- Escorting people with various complex needs.
- Could also be escorting customers on and off transport and supporting them throughout the journey.
When will you be needed?
Five hours per week, flexible - Thurs am; Thurs pm; Fri am; Fri pm
Based at Springfield Day and Assessment Centre, Bishopbriggs. Collecting clients from their homes in and around the former Strathclyde region and taking them to a specific location and also dropping them home again.
What Skills/Experience Are Needed?
Good Interpersonal Skills; Physically fit (carry light loads); Willingness to work as part of a team; Willingness to work independently
