Would you like to unite with us against dementia?
There are 850,000 people in the UK with dementia. This number will rise to over 1 million in the next few years. Not only does it change the lives of people living with dementia and their carers, dementia has a massive impact on the health of the UK due to the financial impact on Health and Social Services.
Alzheimer’s Society are working for a world without dementia.
As well as the provision of services for people affected by dementia we are committed to contributing at least £10 million a year for the next 5 years towards dementia research. To enable us to do this while providing the highest levels of support we are aiming to raise £100 million a year.
This is where you can help to create a world without dementia.
Community fundraising is at the very centre of how we raise vital funds at a local level and volunteers are the local heroes of community fundraising. They spend their time, on an occasional or regular basis, helping with a diverse range of events, such as coffee mornings, bucket collections or other awareness events, the list is endless.
Fundraising Groups are a great way to make new friends, socialise and raise vital funds at the same time. If you love meeting new people, and getting out and about in your community then the volunteer fundraising group is for you. If you are worried you won't have any ideas remember, there is no such thing as a silly idea when it comes to fundraising!
Alzheimer’s Society are building a dementia movement and we would love for you to be a part of it. You really can make a difference.
