Short Term

Are you Instinctively Wild?

We are a social enterprise that specialises in reconnecting people through an experience with nature. We do this through a wide variety of projects, such eco-therapy for adults, Forest Schools for children/youth and team-building for companies.

Our summer activity weeks

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us run our summer activity week programmes at Yellowcraig, East Lothian, in July/August 2018.

This year we will be running three weeks (Monday to Thursday, non-residential, 9am to 5pm): two weeks for children aged 8 to 12 years (Eco-Kidz); one week for teenagers aged 13 to 16 (Wild Instinct).

There are plenty of days to choose from! We are running Monday to Thursday from 23 July to 10 August.

Training opportunities

Thanks to funding we already have in place, we are able to offer a limited number of training places for: Forest Schools training Level 1 and Child Protection Training.

For everyone coming on to a project, we do a full day's induction training so that volunteers can begin to experience what we do on an activity week and understand their roles and responsibilites.

About you

Ideally you’ll be based in Edinburgh/East Lothian and have a passion for nature/the outdoors and enjoy working with other people and as part of a team.

As we are working with vulnerable groups, we have a thorough vetting procedure, which involves an initial meeting, application form with references and a PVG application (police check).

How to get involved

In the first instance, please contact Graeme Drever using the link below for a Volunteer Induction Booklet, which will give you greater insight into the role and our volunteer-recruitment procedure.

We do pay travel expenses. We also book accommodation near Haddington, which you would be welcome to stay in (subject to space).

We look forward to hearing from you!
