Volunteer: Bovey Tracey Memory Cafe
Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care and create lasting change for people affected by dementia. We also fund research and are committed to contributing at last £10 million every year to reasearch to create a world without dementia.
Would you like to unite with us against dementia?
This group is for people with dementia and their carers to meet and enjoy a range of social activities. This can include working with visiting artists, quizzes, reminiscence activities and much more. It is an opportunity for people attending the group to share experiences with others in a safe and friendly environment.
What will I be doing?
Volunteers are needed to help with the running of the group. This includes setting up the venue, meeting and greeting those attending, helping to facilitate activities and ensuring that the people attending are able to engage with the group. Volunteers are also needed to assist with serving refreshments. Good communication skills are important as well as an ability to show empathy and support.
The group is held in Bovey Tracey and runs from 2-4pm on the first and third Wednesday of the month.
