SANEline is the only national, out-of-hours, specialist helpline for people affected by mental health problems. It's open 365 days a year from 4.30pm to 10.30pm.
Volunteers provide one-to-one emotional support, information and guidance and act as the gateway to our ongoing care services.
You would work one four-hour shift a week.
This role is a great way to use your life experience to help and support others. You don't need to be a mental health professional, though an interest in mental health is useful.
We look for people with empathy, warmth, understanding and compassion. If you already have these qualities our training programme will help you develop the necessary knowledge and skills.
You need to be able to speak and write English fluently, with basic IT skills to be able to use our systems.
In return we provide extensive training to help you develop the knowledge and skills you need, with ongoing development throughout your time with us.
