Volunteer Museum Education Volunteer - Grace Darling Museum- Bamburgh
The RNLI Grace Darling Museum in Bamburgh tells the story of Grace Darling, the lighthouse keeper’s daughter who risked her life to rescue others from certain death in a terrible storm. Museum visitors experience the life and times of this fearless girl who became a reluctant celebrity.
The role of Museum Education Volunteer is varied and flexible. You could run interactive education sessions with school groups; deliver talks or workshops to our visitors; or design and deliver informal holiday activities. Whichever role you choose to explore, you’ll maintain our high standard of customer service.
You’ll be encouraged to do some research into the Grace Darling story and the history of the RNLI, but you don’t have to be an expert. We will familiarise you with our existing workshops, and there’ll always be a colleague at hand to assist. We are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic individual who is willing to give some time to help keep Grace’s story alive and share it with our visitors, both young and old, thus raising vital awareness and funds to save lives at sea and preserve the heritage of the RNLI.
