Volunteer Chairperson Lifeboat Management Group - Redcar
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We provide, on call, a 24 hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, and a seasonal lifeguard service. With our lifeboats, lifeguards, safety messages and flood rescue we are committed to saving more lives.
The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Redcar is looking for a volunteer to join the existing team in the role of Lifeboat Management Group Chair.
Situated on the Esplanade, the Redcar lifeboat station houses our Atlantic 85 and IB1 class lifeboats. One of the oldest lifeboat stations in the RNLI, Redcar is the home of the Zetland, the world’s oldest surviving lifeboat.
The role of the Lifeboat Management Group Chair is to provide local leadership to ensure that all functions of the local station are co-ordinated by holding regular meetings, developing local relationships and communicating effectively with all stakeholders.
It is a good opportunity for the right person to join a motivated and enthusiastic local team and have the satisfaction of contributing to saving lives at sea without even getting wet!
If you have good communication skills, enjoy working as part of a team, have an interest in the RNLI and the ability to chair a meeting effectively this could be the role for you. No maritime experience necessary.
Please apply online or for further information contact the RNLI’s Volunteering Team on 01202 663346 or by email on firstname.lastname@example.org
