Museum Front of House Volunteer - Bamburgh
The RNLI Grace Darling Museum in Bamburgh tells the story of Grace Darling, the lighthouse keeper’s daughter who risked her life to rescue others from certain death in a terrible storm. Museum visitors experience the life and times of this fearless girl who became a reluctant celebrity.
The role of Museum Front of House Volunteer begins with welcoming our visitors to the museum, relaying information about the museum and providing an excellent level of customer service. Queries may relate to the life of Grace Darling and her family or to information about Bamburgh and the surrounding area. However, you don’t have to be an expert as there’ll always be a colleague on hand to assist. Your role also includes serving customers in the gift shop, stock replenishment and cash handling, whilst maintaining our high standard of customer service. You will of course receive all the training required.
We are looking for a flexible individual who has a morning or afternoon a week to spare to help keep Grace’s story alive, whilst raising vital funds to save lives at sea and preserve the heritage of the RNLI.
This is a volunteer opportunity within the RNLI. RNLI volunteers are people who, unpaid and of their own free will, contribute their time, energy and skills to support the purposes of the RNLI. RNLI volunteers may perform a variety of tasks and duties, under direction and guidance, using their skills, knowledge and time to help the RNLI best achieve its objectives.
