The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We provide, on call, a 24 hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, and a seasonal lifeguard service. With our lifeboats, lifeguards, safety messages and flood rescue we are committed to saving more lives.

The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Cromer is looking for volunteers to join the existing team in the role of Shore Crew.

Established in 1804, Cromer Lifeboat Station has been awarded 56 medals for gallantry during its remarkable history. Today the station operates both a Tamar and a D class lifeboat, and celebrates the heroic Coxswain Henry Blogg

The role of Shore Crew is to assist with the launch and recovery of the lifeboats on service and exercise, to maintain competence under Competency Based Training for the role and to contribute to the overall upkeep of the station, lifeboats and equipment.

This is a good opportunity to join a motivated and enthusiastic local team and have the satisfaction of contributing to saving lives at sea.

If you are a team player with good general fitness and the ability to learn new skills this could be the role for you. You must live or work within 3 miles of the station and be between 17 and 65 years of age.

This is a volunteer opportunity within the RNLI.  RNLI volunteers are people who, unpaid and of their own free will, contribute their time, energy and skills to support the purposes of the RNLI.  RNLI volunteers may perform a variety of tasks and duties, under direction and guidance, using their skills, knowledge and time to help the RNLI best achieve its objectives.
