An opportunity to shape a groundbreaking fund for girls & women.
Rosa is the first and only UK Fund dedicated to supporting women and girls and we are looking for a dynamic new Chair who shares our ambition. We connect, champion and invest to bring about change. The projects we support enable better representation and leadership, increased safety, improved health and wellbeing and economic equality for women and girls.
Founded in 2008, Rosa has since grown in scope, building a strong reputation, developing excellent links within foundation and corporate sectors, increasing influence with government and an expanding portfolio of grants and donors. Last year, HM Treasury made Rosa a distribution partner for £2M in funds from the ‘Tampon Tax’, which was launched before Christmas as the Woman to Woman fund. The first round of grants in March invested £598,020 in 38 projects across the UK. Rosa now runs the innovative nationwide Voices from the Frontline grants programme for campaigners, leads the successful Tackling FGM Initiative, and supports projects through training, mentoring and networking. We are at a crucial and exciting point and keen to build on recent successes.
Our board is comprised of dedicated and skilled individuals from a range of backgrounds and expertise, and we are now seeking a passionate and committed Chair who will provide strong leadership for the board of Rosa.
The successful candidate will have senior level experience, credibility and legitimacy with all of our stakeholders who include the corporate and business sector; the foundation and voluntary sector and government. They will also be a strategic thinker and a change maker with experience of being on boards.
It is estimated that the role will require approximately 12-16 hours per month.
The closing date for applications is Friday 30th June, 2017. Interviews will take place in September 2017.
