About Bolton Society for Blind People
Bolton Society for Blind People (BSBP) previously known as Bolton Social Centre for the Blind was established in the late 1940’s to provide a weekly social club for Blind people in addition to information and advice for those with sight loss and their families. The Charity's original Aim remains unchanged; however our range of activities and services provided to over 1000 Blind or partially sighted adults has evolved over time to better suit the need of Blind adults.
Based at The Sensory Centre, not too far from the heart of Bolton we are able to offer our members a hub where all our social groups including the longstanding Saturday Social Group meet. We also provide Visual Impairment Training at the centre and you can drop in and ask for advice from one of our staff members at any time.
Having a range of skill and commitment available via our experienced staff and dedicated Volunteers we are also able to offer various activities out in the Community as well as our long standing home visiting service working towards the aim to inform, enable and support Blind adults in Bolton.
