About Wharfedale House
Wharfedale House is part of the Leonard Cheshire Disability Charity. Wharfedale House is a purpose built two storey home in the market town of Wetherby West Yorkshire overlooking the river Wharfe and The Ings, a gathering place for all kinds of activities important to the town.
Our home has a cheerfull and friendly atmosphere with many of the residents choosing to take part in a variety of activities and trips. they can also organise activities of their own supported by staff and volunteers.
We pride ourselves on supporting our residents to be independant and to take part in the community activities as they wish.
to fund this we have various fund raising events and we are lucky enough to have our own charity shop, the oldest one in Wetherby.
Recently we have fund raised for two minibus's, a conservatory and a family room our next aim is to fund a new patio to replace the one that was taken for the conservatory and to have IT in every room in the building to help our residents access the wider community and to do their own shopping.
For this we need volunteers.
