How you will make a difference to cats and people:
As an Education Speaker you will act as an ambassador for Cats Protection and play a key role in raising awareness of how the charity makes a big difference to the lives of thousands of cats and kittens in need each year. You will inspire others, develop learning and understanding of feline welfare and be the voice for cats in your community.

What the role involves:

  • Giving talks to schools and community groups
  • Holding information sessions for local groups 
  • Working closely with your Community Education Officer and Education Coordinator 
  • Completing activity evaluations and feedback forms
  • Being a positive representative for Cats Protection in your community

Skills and experience required or could be developed:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence in speaking with groups of people
  • Ability to work on your own initiative 
  • Passion for feline welfare
  • Knowledge of local community networks

Time expectation:
This is a flexible role and can be shared with other volunteers. The role is home based, but does need to be within the local area of the recruiting group. Time expectation for this role will vary across our volunteer groups, your local contact will be able to provide more information.

How we will support you:
You will receive full training and support in your role. Your contact for this role will provide you with day to day support, guidance and direction and your staff contact will work with others to ensure that you have a positive, enjoyable volunteering experience. We also have Communications, Volunteering and Branch Support teams who can provide you with guidance and information.
